Program summary

The Trust funds individuals and groups who require financial support for travel.

The STA Travel Trust was developed to assist individuals and community groups to explore the world and make their big ideas come to life.

Key dates

The board meets annually in August.  Applications must reach the Sponsorship Coordinator no later than 21 May to be considered.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be over 18. Groups and individuals are welcome to apply.

Recipients will be expected to provide a detailed report of their experiences, speak at an STA Travel seminar, and be willing to participate in media interviews.

How To Apply

Applications should be short and sweet, maximum of 2 pages, applications longer than 2 pages will not be considered.

Applications should identify your objectives or desired solution, present a specific plan or agenda, show that the project is planned around an achievable timetable and budget, be innovative, and be able to demonstrate that the project is directed at a solution. Our preferred application format is:

• A summary of the nature and purpose of the project
• An indication of the resources/funds required and a timeline
• Why it is needed and who benefits
• Background, history, personnel and references
• What is offered as recognition of the Trust's support
• Contact details for a person able to provide any further information required

What will be funded?

To be eligible for a grant, you must have a proposal that is compatible with the STA Travel philosophy of developing peace, tolerance and understanding through travel, learning and experience.

Sponsorships are primarily awarded for projects that have demonstrable benefit to the community through pursuing the objectives of the STA Travel Trust.
