Rural Education Program

Funder: Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal

Program summary

The Rural Education Program seeks to ensure that quality education remains accessible to children in rural and remote communities regardless of climatic and economic conditions.

Through collaboration with local agencies and sponsored partnerships with individuals and corporations, the Program will be able to extend the educational recourses and individualised learning support that rural students require.

The Rural Education Program is the initiative of founding donors Baillieu & Sarah Myer, John & Janet Calvert-Jones and Tim & Gina Fairfax. Their generosity is a wonderful example of the practical grass roots philanthropy evolving in Australia. The founding donors would like to invite other contributors to join with them in ensuring that the education of students in Australia's rural and remote communities continues uninterrupted.
